Does that mee look familiar to you?? Haaha..this is what they called ‘mee kolok’ in Sarawak.. Prof. Ismawi cakap ‘kolok’ tu maksud dia separuh basah..nampak tak mangkuk kicap seblah kiri tu? That is the soup that we poured inside the mee..prof. cakap lagi “If you come to Sarawak and you didn’t try mee kolok maksudnye tak complete la..” What makes the different? The mee itself of course. The taste is nice...ntah, rase dia kenyal2 sket..kat semenanjung ni x pnah lagi jupe but prof claimed that it can be found somewhere in bangi..ade restaurant yang serve traditional sarawak food kat sane.(That’s the intro..)
Went to Sarawak last week- for 6 days. Spent 2 and half days at Santubong and the rest at Kuching. The journey from Kuching Airport to Santubong was quite far..almost 40 min kot..ntahla..maybe I felt that far because it was my first time being there..slalunyer kalau kite tak tau jalan mmg rase lama kan journey tuh..
Mase smpai tu kebetulan baru lepas hujan kat sana..so, the environment was soooo refreshing..best sangat2..the town is so clean + the fresh air …sangat² rejuvenate!!..haaa..even my boss said “Faizah, you really need this break..” (yeah..absolutely!! I need a break and still need some more :P) Daripada jauh dah nmpak gunung santubong..teringat cerita hikayat “Puteri Santubong Puteri Sejinjang- Penjaga Gunung Negeri Sarawak ”. Tapi pemandu taxi tu cakap bukit santubong..hehe tak kisah la bukit ke gunung ke ..janji santubong..:p
Me with Miera (Dr. Asiah’s daughter) - during our stay at Damai Beach Resort, Santubong. Shot after morning jog ..watching sunrise.. ^_^ "rise and shine"!!Makan jangan cakap la…Food kat sana mmg sodap2. Especially the pineapple juice..should try Sarawak pineapple..haha..padan la dengan harga dia RM4 per glass..but never drink (haha..hard statement nih) the one at kuching waterfront near to Hilton..huhu, tak padan dengan harge RM6 per glass but the taste really hampeh..
I must say - it is recommended for those who planning to spend time at beach for holiday..Nice hill view, good hotel facilities, stunning beach + penuh ngan mat saleh bersidai kat tepi² pantai..hahaha.. “Pergilah bercuti, Semuanya ada di Malaysia..Cuti-cuti Malaysia” :pAt Hilton, Kuching the situation came back to the norm of city life. But with less traffic and they still using boat as the main transportation mode. To cross this river, it costs only 30 cent per head. The city centre and development of waterfront is on the left side while at the right side is more on the people settlement..So, bile petang² tu ramai la budak² sekolah naik sampan crossing the river..balik umah masing²..
A day before flight back to KL, sempat gi melawat ladang kat Gedong (tempat kelahiran Prof)..It’s quite far..100km from kuching..Macam² tempat gi visit..Kat Serian pun makan mee kolok lagi..but the taste is better than the one at kuching :)
Cantik kan rumput nih :) Prof. Mawi kate ni ‘rumput janggut kambing’ haha..ntah la kang dia gunakan nama saintifik dia tak reti nak mengingat plak..yelah bab² nama saintifik ni landscape architect terror la..
Hehe..tgah kire lembu..aishh..mane pegi lagi sekor? Tak cukup nih :p (suke gambar nih..klasik kan?? )
Aite..that’s all folks..x larat dah nak menaip pjg²..x pelah..yg lain² tu kalau teringat nanti akan ditulis kemudian..hihihi..
